Archaeology

Archaeology is a great part of Tanzania to investigate. After all, bones and fossils dating back to more than two million years ago is very impressive. Two of the best Stone Age archaeological sites on the planet are found in Tanzania, one of which is the famous Isimilia Gorge, where 30,000 year old rock painting has been found.

National Parks

The National Parks are another highly recommended thing to do while in Tanzania. Serengeti National Park is one of the most well-known in the world, as it contains lions, rhinos, elephants, crocodiles, zebras, and so much more. Ruaha National Park and Selous Game Reserve are other great places to see animals, and they aren’t as full of tourists as Serengeti National Park can get, and it even has more animals. Also be sure to stop by Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the Ngorongoro Crater is located. It’s a wild area, and you are bound to see some wildlife.

Beaches

Believe it or not, the beaches in Tanzania are stunningly gorgeous and are some of the most un-spoiled beaches on the entire planet. Zanzibar is a gorgeous island off the coast of Tanzania and is definitely worth traveling to, if only for a day. Here, water sports reign supreme, with lots of people opting to lay out on the beach, go scuba diving or snorkeling, or even swimming with dolphins. There is also the very interesting Stone Town, where several different cultures combined to create the characteristic one of Zanzibar.

Mountains

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the highest in the world. Few are qualified to climb to the summit, but that doesn’t mean tourists can’t try. There are plenty of trails to take to the summit and plenty of companies offering professional guides to ensure a successful climb.
